My husband gotten a civil summons last year. The place wanted him to pay so much and so on. Of course we could not afford the whole big amount. Also on the paper saying we had 20 days to send in a defense letter to them. So I wrote one out, Told them the payments had to be monthly after everything else we paying on each month. I send the letter in along with the first money order. I Said I would keep my subs, track my payment down and make sure they cash it. Keep doing all this till the amount was paid off. So money order was cash, and a I send another one for Jan of this year. They cash that too. Now this morn he called to say they wanted his check garinshed, and also asking for more money like over another 1k for all. Which was not the amount they ask for the other times. I still have my stubs, and I call money gram and the woman said I can get a report of who cash the orders and what bank and so on. Should I do that and fight them ? Or there nothing I can do and just watch it come out of my husband pay each week ? Help
Answer1:yes i would fight it and i do hope you win - in case you dont for planning purposes they can garnish up to 25% of his salary!!!
Answer2:Myself I contend that letters are good, assuming they are created utilizing good punctuation and spelling (always use a spoil chequer!).
