im a 19 year old beautician from staffs, im attractive,smart,presentable and very career driven and yet i cant get a job anywhere! i am aware that due to the current climate salons are not hiring any more staff at the moment but as for reception work, P/As, customer service no body wants me!i come from a gooid background and my mom has raised me with my head screwed on, as she runs her own business but because of the recession cannot employ me at the moment.please HELP! does anyone have any suggestions? i live in staffordshire?
      Answer1:Do you get interviews? If not, then maybe re-work your C.V a bit. Dont just send the same C.V off to every job - make sure that your skills are tied in to the requirements of the new role. Think of all the things you have done in you current job, and think about how they might be useful in the job you are applying for. Overlook nothing!Also, write good covering letters which express why you want the job and what you can bring to the party (for any job, even the small ones).Maybe go see some recruitment consultants and let them help you? They can also give you lots of application advice if you ask them (though dont follow everything they say if it doesnt quite right!)Plenty of C.V advice online. In these times, you need to be a bit more savvy because there are a lot of people looking for jobs out there.Good luck!

Because of the current hiring freeze and the low economic balance of the United States, employment has become a much harder thing to come by. I would suggest looking at a job website near your area and searching for the salon critique. If that doesnt work then try to expand your horizons on the job you want, as in look for salons a little farther away, just something to get you started. Many people run salons out of their homes too, but Im not completely sure how much good that would do you.

      Answer4:I agree with MUNRO, you need to change your cv if you are not getting job interviews. I went through that faze and when I changed my cv, i.e one for Consultant Vacancies and one for Legal Assistant, then I was able to send different Cvs forward for different vacancies. You should not limit yourself on one area, broaden your horizens, do some volunteer work, or maybe you have enough experience, that you just want to find a job. Send speculative letters out, but choose your companies carefully. Good luck
